Leadership is such a misunderstood concept in our society today, particularly when people are thrust into positions of leadership and they simply do not have that skillset. Not everyone is cut out to be a leader, nor should they either want or expect to be one. However, when sound leadership qualities are instilled in the right person or group of people, there is no end to positive difference that can be made. As the Superintendent of Harvey Public Schools, I am so excited for the opportunity to bring the teacher leadership academy (TLA) to Harvey Public Schools, and so thankful to the Burgum Foundations' investment in our teachers. The leadership qualities that our teaching staff will develop will not only benefit their respective classrooms, but will also contribute to the greater good of both our School District and the Harvey area community for many years to come. Harvey teachers participating in the Leadership Masters program are Nicole Armstrong, Bret Dockter, Kate Dockter, Pam Faul, JoDee Free, Heidi Keller, Ashley Ketterling, Kristen Steichen, Brandon Storbeck, and Vondell Stutlien. This summer, these teachers are in their first semester of the five-semester program through NDSU.
